No Headscarves Allowed in Olympic Soccer

Wearing head coverings while playing sports is not unusual for Muslim women. The Iranian women's soccer team does so and qualified for the 2012 London Olympics. However, FIFA, the world governing organization for soccer, disqualified the Iranian women's team claiming that their hijab did not comply with FIFA's rules claiming safety issues. One journalist points out that FIFA's ruling is wrong as Muslim women have safely played with headscarves for years, including the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
